Yorkville, IL – Deputies in Kendall County are searching for a man who allegedly ran from custody at the county courthouse late Tuesday morning.
According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Rayvon Johnson fled shortly after 11 a.m. as deputies attempted to take him into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in a domestic battery case.
Officials said Johnson was last seen heading east from the courthouse on foot. He was wearing black shorts and a black shirt at the time. Johnson is described as approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is working with law enforcement partners, deploying K9 units and drones to assist in the search. While Johnson does not appear to pose an immediate public safety threat, deputies are urging residents in the Yorkville area to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
