Kansas Weekend Weather: Storms, Hail, and Gusty Winds

Wichita, KS – Kansas residents should brace for a wet start to the weekend as scattered showers and storms are forecasted for today. The US National Weather Service in Wichita reported early this morning that the weather system will primarily affect areas along and west of the Kansas Turnpike. These storms may bring gusty winds, pea-sized hail, and heavy downpours.

According to the National Weather Service, the chances for scattered showers and storms will increase this morning, bringing a significant amount of rain to the region. The radar indicates storm activity in areas such as Russell, Salina, and Hutchinson, moving towards Wichita, Emporia, and Topeka.

Today’s high is expected to reach 82°F with an 80% chance of rain. Sunday will see a slight improvement with partly cloudy skies and a high of 82°F. Monday and Tuesday are predicted to be mostly sunny, with temperatures rising to 85°F and 86°F, respectively. By midweek, the weather will clear up significantly, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to be sunny and warm, with highs reaching 90°F and 91°F.
