Wichita, KS – A strong cold front is set to bring a sharp drop in temperatures to much of central, south-central, and southeast Kansas this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita.
Forecasters say breezy conditions and colder air will move in Sunday, sending high temperatures tumbling into the upper 30s and low 40s. Overnight lows are expected to fall into the upper teens and lower 20s by early Monday morning — the coldest air of the season so far for many locations.
Monday will remain chilly with sunshine and highs in the mid-40s to low 50s. However, a quick rebound is expected by Tuesday as winds shift and warmer air moves back into the region. Highs are forecast to climb into the upper 60s and even low 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday, with dry weather prevailing through midweek.
Residents are advised to prepare for the temperature swing and protect outdoor plants or pets from the sudden overnight cold.
