Dodge City, KS – Residents across Kansas can expect warm and mostly dry weather conditions through the upcoming week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Dodge City.

According to the NWS forecast released Sunday morning, significant rainfall is not expected across the state through Saturday, October 5. Instead, most areas will see warmer-than-average temperatures, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Forecasters say some parts of southwestern Kansas could reach into the lower 90s by Friday and Saturday, particularly in counties along the Oklahoma border. The extended stretch of dry weather comes after recent periods of unsettled conditions, offering a calm start to October for much of the region.

Meteorologists noted that while the warmth may feel closer to summer than fall, residents should continue monitoring updates in case of late-week changes. Light breezes and dry air may also contribute to elevated fire danger in localized areas, especially where vegetation remains dry.

The outlook suggests that Kansas farmers and outdoor planners can expect favorable conditions for fieldwork, travel, and events throughout the week. However, the lack of rainfall may pose challenges for those still in need of soil moisture heading into the fall planting season.
