Wichita, Kansas – Scattered thunderstorms will linger across central and south-central Kansas through Tuesday morning, bringing localized rainfall but no severe threats. Residents in Wichita and surrounding areas should expect occasional downpours and gusty winds, especially during the overnight hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms continues tonight, followed by showers into Tuesday morning. Winds will shift from southeast to northwest at 8 to 10 mph, with gusts reaching 20 mph during the day Tuesday. No widespread flooding or storm damage is expected, but minor travel delays and slick roads are possible during the morning commute.

Cities including Hutchinson, El Dorado, and Winfield may experience intermittent rain and thunder through midday Tuesday. While spotter activation is not currently anticipated, residents should remain alert to changing conditions, particularly in low-lying or flood-prone areas.

Conditions will dry out by Tuesday night, with mostly sunny skies returning by midweek. Highs will hover in the low 70s Wednesday before warming back into the 80s for the second half of the week.

More rain is unlikely after Tuesday, but updated advisories could still be issued if conditions change.
