Wichita, KS – Scattered rain showers are expected to move across Kansas on Saturday, followed by a potential mix of rain and snow Saturday night that could bring freezing temperatures to much of the state.

According to the US National Weather Service Wichita Kansas, southern parts of the state face the highest chance for rain during the day Saturday, with temperatures ranging between 46°F and 51°F. By Saturday night, a mix of rain and snow is possible across the region, with overnight lows dropping to between 26°F and 34°F.

A light dusting of snow may accumulate on grassy or elevated surfaces, although significant accumulations are not anticipated. Forecasters warn that below-freezing temperatures could lead to slick conditions on bridges and overpasses, especially in the early morning hours Sunday.

Sunday is expected to bring clearing skies and a return to sunshine, with high temperatures ranging from 50°F to 58°F. However, another cold night is forecast for Sunday, with temperatures again dipping to between 29°F and 34°F.

Residents are advised to monitor local weather alerts, protect sensitive plants, and avoid travel during icy conditions, particularly late Saturday into early Sunday.
