Dodge City, KS – The National Weather Service in Dodge City reports that temperatures across southwest Kansas will remain near-normal through Thanksgiving and Friday, before a sharp cooldown arrives over the weekend.
According to the latest temperature outlook, highs will stay in the 40s and 50s through Friday, with nighttime lows in the 30s to low 40s. However, a cold front moving in late Friday will drop temperatures significantly, with highs only reaching the 30s by Sunday and overnight lows plummeting into the 20s.
The NWS warns that the shift could affect post-Thanksgiving travel, especially for those driving early next week as colder, breezy conditions settle in across western Kansas.
Residents are encouraged to bundle up and prepare for a winter-like start to December.
