Wichita, KS – Kansas is facing an increased chance of storms tonight, with central parts of the state expecting the strongest weather. The National Weather Service in Wichita reports that the stormy conditions will include small hail, winds reaching 40 to 50 mph, and heavy rainfall.
According to the NWS, storm chances will rise tonight starting at 7 p.m. and continue through 7 a.m. on Saturday. Areas such as Russell and Pratt face the highest storm probabilities, at 57% and 59% respectively. Salina has a 46% chance, while Wichita’s probability stands at 24%. Residents are advised to stay alert and prepare for possible severe weather.
Cooler-than-average temperatures are predicted for the weekend. Saturday’s forecast includes scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs ranging from 80 to 86 degrees. Sunday will see similar conditions, with temperatures between 80 and 85 degrees and continued chances for scattered showers.
Next week’s outlook shows a mix of weather patterns. Monday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 83 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring sunny skies, with highs of 86 and 89 degrees, respectively.
