Kansas City, MO – Strong winds early Wednesday will give way to frosty conditions by Thursday morning across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, according to the National Weather Service offices in Topeka and Kansas City/Pleasant Hill.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, with north winds of 20–30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph expected across areas including Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, St. Joseph, and Emporia.
As skies clear and winds calm late tonight, a Frost Advisory will take over from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. CDT Thursday, with temperatures expected to dip to 33–35°F across much of the region. The chill could damage sensitive vegetation or end the growing season in some areas.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects this morning and cover or bring in plants tonight. Forecasters say milder weather will return by the weekend.
