Kansas City, MO–KS – A gray, still morning opens Sunday across the metro, the kind that makes coffee taste a little better but commutes slower. Clouds dominate again today, with patchy drizzle possible through midday before steadier rain develops to start the week — just as the Halloween countdown begins.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will stay mostly cloudy with highs near 57°F. Winds from the east may gust to 20 mph at times. By Monday, skies remain overcast as temperatures rise to near 59°F, followed by increasing chances of showers late in the day and into Tuesday. Drivers along I-35 and I-70 should expect slick roads and reduced visibility during the Tuesday morning and evening travel windows.

Rain chances linger through early Wednesday before drier, cooler air builds in from the northwest. Highs will drop into the lower 50s by midweek, with lows dipping toward 40°F under partly cloudy skies. The change marks the start of Kansas City’s true fall finish — breezy, crisp, and increasingly seasonal.

Halloween Friday looks mainly dry, with highs near 57°F and cooling quickly after sunset. Trick-or-treaters should plan for brisk air and light winds — great for layered costumes and quick routes.

Looking ahead, long-range models hint at an even colder push by early November — an early signal of a chilly November ahead.
