Wichita, KS – Kansas residents are preparing for a significant heat wave, with temperatures expected to climb well into the triple digits throughout the upcoming week. The National Weather Service in Wichita has forecasted that daily highs will range from the mid-90s to as high as 105 degrees, particularly in southern Kansas, where the heat will be most intense.
The heat will start building today, with temperatures ranging between 93 and 97 degrees. Sunday and Monday will see the mercury rise further, with highs expected to reach between 96 and 105 degrees. Monday is anticipated to be the hottest day, with southern Kansas facing the peak of this heatwave.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front is expected to approach the area late Monday into Tuesday, potentially bringing some heat relief to parts of central and northern Kansas. However, temperatures will still remain in the upper 90s to low 100s through Wednesday, with storms possibly developing late in the day.
