Wichita, KS – The National Weather Service Wichita says a frontal boundary will bring rain and gusty winds to central and southeast Kansas beginning late Monday night and continuing through Wednesday.
Rain is expected to develop overnight, with the best chances Tuesday and early Wednesday, especially across southeast Kansas, where up to a half inch of rain is possible. Behind the front, windy conditions will develop, with gusts likely reaching 25 to 35 mph through midweek.
Highs Tuesday will stay in the mid-50s to low 60s, dropping slightly by Wednesday as cooler air filters in. Overnight lows will fall into the 30s and low 40s, marking a noticeable autumn chill.
By Thursday, skies are expected to clear, bringing sunny, calm, and cool conditions through the end of the week. Highs will remain near 60°F, with crisp mornings in the 30s expected Friday.
The NWS advises residents to secure outdoor items ahead of the gusty winds and prepare for patchy light rain and cooler days early in the week.
