Kansas City, Missouri – Warm, dry weather will continue across Missouri on Sunday, but a slight change arrives Monday with isolated storms possible in central and eastern parts of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, no severe storms are expected, though up to a 35% chance of rain is in play Monday into Tuesday for areas like Columbia, Jefferson City, and Hannibal. Temperatures will range from the upper 70s to mid-80s Sunday, climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s by midweek, especially in northern Missouri.
Scattered showers could briefly impact travel during Monday afternoon and evening hours, particularly along major corridors like I-70 and US-63. With cloud cover expected to break by Tuesday, any rain will be light and short-lived, allowing dry conditions to return.
Residents should stay weather-aware if commuting Monday, as brief downpours could reduce visibility. It’s a good idea to check windshield wipers and ensure weather alerts are enabled on mobile devices.
Temperatures will continue to rise through Thursday, with highs nearing 90°F in cities such as St. Joseph and Kirksville by Wednesday. Additional rain chances may develop later in the week.
Another update from the NWS is expected by Monday morning as conditions evolve.
