Kansas City, MO – Fall may be on the calendar, but Missouri residents will continue to feel summer-like heat through the end of the week. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Kansas City reports that daily highs will stay in the mid to upper 80s through Saturday, about 15 degrees above seasonal averages.
According to the NWS, Tuesday will bring increasing cloud cover, with highs between 83 and 88 degrees. Skies should clear out late Wednesday, when temperatures remain similar, topping out near 88 degrees. Sunshine returns Thursday and Friday, when highs may reach 89 or even 90 degrees in some areas.
Forecasters note that breezy southerly winds are expected to develop late in the week. While this will bring some slight changes in weather patterns, the overall forecast remains dry. Precipitation chances have been pushed into early next week, leaving the region under persistent warmth and sunshine for now.
The unseasonably warm stretch comes as September ends and October begins, a period when average highs in Kansas City typically sit in the low 70s. Officials remind residents to stay hydrated and take precautions during outdoor activities, particularly during peak afternoon hours when temperatures are highest.
