Kansas City, Mo. – Missouri residents will enjoy a crisp weekend before summer warmth makes a comeback, with highs returning to the 90s by midweek. Overnight lows dipping into the 40s and 50s Sunday will give way to rising temperatures starting Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, most of western and central Missouri will stay cool through Sunday before a steady warming trend begins. Bethany, Maryville, and Kirksville will see some of the sharpest temperature swings, climbing from lows near 40 degrees this weekend to highs in the upper 80s and 90s by Wednesday.
Light rain is possible Monday evening in parts of western Missouri and eastern Kansas, though most areas will stay dry. Commuters across Kansas City, Sedalia, and St. Joseph should prepare for warmer afternoons by midweek, with highs consistently in the upper 80s to near 90 through Saturday.
The quick warm-up could create challenges for outdoor workers and school events, as late-summer heat settles back in. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours.
Temperatures will remain above average through next weekend, with little relief expected once the warming trend locks in.
