Kansas City, MO – Afternoon storms could rattle the Kansas City metro Thursday as a warm, humid air mass moves across western Missouri. While the chance of rain remains low, even isolated thunderstorms may impact roads like I-70 and I-435 after 3 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, a 20% chance of thunderstorms arrives Thursday afternoon, with another slight chance Thursday night. South winds between 5 and 11 mph may stir up muggy conditions, as highs reach 84°F in Kansas City and surrounding areas. Although widespread impacts aren’t expected, sudden downpours or lightning could disrupt the evening commute.

Friday brings another round of unsettled weather. Isolated storms could develop after 10 a.m., again posing minor risks. Temperatures stay warm, topping out near 83°F. Friday night into the weekend looks mostly quiet, with mostly cloudy skies and mild overnight lows around 68°F.

Saturday and Sunday look hot and mostly dry with highs pushing 88°F and 89°F, respectively. Humidity will make conditions feel warmer. More thunderstorms return Monday and Tuesday, with 30% chances both days.
