Kansas City, MO – A strong cold front will sweep across the Kansas City region this weekend, bringing a dramatic shift from mild to winter-like conditions, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill.
Saturday will be the last warm day before the front moves through during the afternoon. Highs will reach the lower 60s with breezy conditions and a few isolated showers possible, mainly north of Interstate 70.
Temperatures will drop sharply overnight, falling into the 30s by early Sunday. The region may see a few snow flurries late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, particularly north of Kansas City, though no accumulation is expected.
Sunday will stay cold and blustery, with highs near 39°F and northwest winds gusting up to 30 mph. By Monday morning, wind chills are forecast to fall into the teens and lower 20s — the coldest air of the season so far.
After the frigid start to the week, sunshine returns Monday with highs rebounding into the low 40s.
