Kansas City, MO – Residents across northern Missouri woke up to widespread frost this morning, particularly along and north of Highway 36, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City. Early lows dipped into the low to mid-30s, prompting frost advisories for parts of the region.

Temperatures are expected to rebound to seasonal levels today, reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. However, forecasters warn that another change in weather is on the way, as rain spreads northeast after midnight and continues through much of Friday.

The system will bring scattered to widespread showers but no severe weather is anticipated. While the weekend will feature some dry breaks, off-and-on light rain is likely Saturday and Sunday.

Drivers and farmers should remain alert for slick conditions Friday morning, and those in northern counties may see a chilly start again early next week as cooler air follows behind the rain.
