Kansas City, MO – Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to move out of the Kansas City region this morning, bringing in a brief stretch of cooler, fall-like weather, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Kansas City.

Forecasters say rain will taper off from west to east through mid-morning Tuesday, with clouds clearing later in the day. Highs are expected to reach around 68°F today, followed by gradual warming through the week — 74°F Wednesday, 73°F Thursday, and back to 81°F Friday.

According to the NWS, “Dry and cooler conditions follow up the rain, making it feel much more fall-like out there. However, these temperatures only last for the next three days before warming back up to above normal.”

The short-term cool down will offer a seasonal break before temperatures climb again into the 80s by the weekend. Meteorologists note that sunshine will dominate most of the week once the morning clouds and scattered showers move out.

Drivers should expect damp roads during the morning commute but improving conditions by midday. No additional rainfall is forecast for the remainder of the week.
