Kansas City, Missouri – Isolated flurries are possible this morning across parts of northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri, though no accumulation or major travel impacts are expected as temperatures begin a gradual warming trend.

According to the National Weather Service office in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, flurries are most likely north of Interstate 70 and west of Interstate 35 during the early morning hours. Most locations will see little to no impact, and many areas may not observe any snowfall at all.

Roadways including I-70, I-35, US-36, and nearby secondary routes are expected to remain mostly dry. Any flurries that do occur should be brief and light, with no measurable accumulation anticipated. Visibility reductions, if any, are expected to be minimal and short-lived.

After a brief pause in the warming trend today and Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to climb steadily for the latter half of the week. Highs are expected to range from the lower to mid-30s today, increasing into the upper 30s and lower 40s by late week. Some areas may approach the 50s as early as the weekend or early next week.

The National Weather Service notes that this stretch of warmer weather will bring improved travel conditions across the region, with quiet weather expected to dominate after the morning flurry chance passes. Overnight lows will remain cold at times but are forecast to moderate as the warming trend continues.

No winter weather advisories are in effect, and forecasters emphasize that today’s flurry chance is low impact. Drivers are encouraged to remain aware during the early commute, particularly in northern areas, but widespread slick conditions are not expected.

This forecast may be most relevant for early commuters, school transportation, and freight traffic moving along the I-70 and I-35 corridors before calmer and warmer conditions take hold later this week.
