Kansas City, Missouri – An extended stretch of above-normal temperatures is expected to continue across the Kansas City region into next week, with rain chances returning to the forecast beginning Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, dry and mild conditions will persist through the weekend as temperatures climb into the 50s, with some locations reaching the low to mid-60s by early next week. This marks a continuation of unseasonably warm weather for early February.
Forecast highs through the weekend are expected to range from the upper 40s to mid-50s, warming further on Monday and Tuesday. By Tuesday, several locations along Interstate 70 through Kansas City, I-35 near Olathe, and US-50 near Lee’s Summit may see highs in the low to mid-60s.
Rain chances are expected to return on Tuesday, with the highest probability—around 30 to 45 percent—Tuesday night into Wednesday morning as a weather system moves through the region. The National Weather Service notes that precipitation chances may linger through the remainder of next week, though coverage and intensity remain uncertain.
Lower rain chances of 20 to 30 percent are currently forecast beyond Wednesday, suggesting intermittent opportunities for rainfall rather than a prolonged wet period. No severe weather is expected at this time.
Travel impacts are expected to remain minimal through the weekend due to dry conditions. Brief reductions in visibility and slick roads may be possible during rain showers early next week, particularly along major routes such as I-70, I-29, I-435, and I-35 during peak commute times.
This pattern may be favorable for commuters, outdoor workers, and weekend travelers, with mild temperatures and quiet weather continuing before rain chances increase.
Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates as timing and rainfall coverage become more refined heading into next week, but no significant hazards are anticipated at this time.
