Kansas City, Missouri – Above-normal temperatures are expected to arrive today across the Kansas City region and continue into next week, with rain chances increasing by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service office in Kansas City, daytime highs will climb into the 50s today and persist through the weekend, with some locations reaching the low 60s by early next week. These temperatures are well above seasonal averages for early February.

The warmup will be felt across the metro and surrounding communities, including areas along Interstate 70, Interstate 435, Interstate 35, U.S. 71, and Interstate 29. Dry conditions are expected through the weekend, making travel and outdoor activities largely unaffected by weather hazards.

Forecast data shows highs in the low to mid-50s becoming widespread Friday through Sunday, followed by additional warming Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, several locations across western Missouri and eastern Kansas may see highs peak near or above 60 degrees.

Rain chances are expected to increase Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with the National Weather Service indicating the best chances ranging from 30 to 45 percent. Lingering precipitation chances may continue through the remainder of the week, though no severe weather signals were indicated in the outlook.

Despite the warming trend, overnight temperatures will remain cool at times, particularly in outlying areas. Residents are advised to remain aware of changing conditions, especially during early morning and late evening travel.

The temperature swing may be noticeable for commuters, students, and young workers transitioning from colder mornings to mild afternoons. No watches, warnings, or advisories were in effect at the time of the update.

Forecast details may change as timing and coverage of midweek rain become clearer.
