Kansas City, MO – The National Weather Service in Kansas City reports that cooler, near-normal temperatures will settle across the region this week, with the first frost of the season possible by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday, October 19, will bring sunny skies and decreasing winds, with highs in the mid-60s. Conditions turn breezy and warmer Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and wind gusts up to 30 mph expected.

By Tuesday, a cold front will move through northwest Missouri, bringing a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms before much cooler air arrives midweek. Temperatures will fall into the 30s early Wednesday and Thursday mornings, especially north of Kansas City, where patchy frost is possible.

Highs through midweek will stay in the 60s before a gradual warming trend late in the week. Residents should monitor conditions and protect sensitive plants or outdoor plumbing from potential frost damage.
