Kansas City, MO – Residents across Missouri can expect dry, sunny conditions and above-average warmth through the end of September and into early October. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Kansas City reported Thursday morning that patchy fog may affect travel early today, but skies will quickly clear with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s.

According to the NWS, temperatures are expected to climb even further beginning Friday, with highs running 5 to 10 degrees above normal across much of the state. Forecasts show highs in the low to mid-80s across Kansas City, St. Joseph, Chillicothe, and other northern Missouri cities. Overnight lows will remain mild, generally in the upper 50s to low 60s.

The extended outlook indicates the warm and dry trend will continue into next week, carrying through the first days of October. Typically, late September in Missouri brings cooler fall conditions, but current patterns suggest a stretch of summer-like weather will linger. No hazardous weather is anticipated at this time.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the favorable forecast for outdoor activities, though the lack of rainfall may begin to impact lawns and fields if the dry spell extends further.
