Kansas City, MO – The US National Weather Service in Kansas City reports a frigid start to Thursday morning, especially across north-central Missouri, where temperatures dropped into the single digits and even below zero in some locations such as Maryville and Bethany.

Highs today will remain well below normal for early December, reaching only the upper teens to upper 20s across northern Missouri and the mid to upper 20s farther south, including Kansas City.

Temperatures are expected to gradually warm heading into Friday and Saturday, with highs rebounding into the 30s and low 40s. However, overnight lows will stay cold, with many areas dipping back into the teens.

The National Weather Service advises residents to continue taking precautions against the cold, including dressing in layers, covering exposed skin, and ensuring pets and livestock have shelter and access to unfrozen water.
