Kankakee Police Arrest Two on Weapons Charges

Kankakee, IL – Police apprehended two individuals on weapons charges following a disturbance on Sunday afternoon.

According to Kankakee police, officers responded to reports of a disturbance near West Chestnut Street and North Washington Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. Upon arrival, they reportedly discovered a gray Dodge Charger containing a firearm. The vehicle, driven by Jessica Westbrook, 37, with Mario Gray, 27, as the front seat passenger, was searched, leading to the reported recovery of a loaded firearm from the glove compartment.

Westbrook and Gray were arrested and transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center, where they were charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
