Kankakee Man Found Shot Early Saturday: Police Seek Information

Kankakee, IL – Early Saturday, a man was found shot on the 300 block of N Harrison Ave, prompting a police investigation and a call for public assistance.

At approximately 3:06 a.m., officers responded to a Shotspotter Alert and discovered a 30-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The officers administered first aid on the scene and applied a tourniquet to the victim’s wound. He was then transported to the hospital by the Kankakee Fire Department. According to the Kankakee Police Department, the man’s injury is non-life threatening.

Detectives arrived at the scene shortly after and conducted a thorough investigation, interviewing several persons of interest. However, no arrests have been made at this time. The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
