Kankakee, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host an open house public meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, to discuss planned roadway improvements for Illinois Route 115 between US 45/52 (Water Street) and Jeffery Street in Kankakee.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kankakee High School, 1200 West Jeffery Street. Attendees should enter through Door #30.
According to IDOT, the session will feature displays, maps, and an audio-visual presentation running continuously throughout the evening. Representatives from IDOT and the project team will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions.
Residents can attend at any time during the two-hour window, and written comments will be accepted in person or online at www.IL115Kankakee.org.
The IL-115 project aims to enhance safety, traffic flow, and accessibility along the corridor through updated infrastructure and design improvements. IDOT encourages all community members to participate and share input on the proposed changes.
