Kankakee, IL – The Kankakee Community College (KCC) Foundation has officially opened its 2026–27 scholarship application period, offering more than $400,000 in awards to local students. Applications are open now through May 1, 2026, giving current and incoming KCC students several months to apply for financial assistance.
According to the college, the Foundation manages more than 200 scholarships, with awards ranging from $200 to $3,000. Recipients will be notified by June 1, 2026, and must be enrolled at KCC for the 2026–27 school year to receive funds.
Students can apply online at kcc.edu/foundation/scholarships, where a full list of opportunities is available — including scholarships for nursing, business, STEM, art, and vocational students. Some awards also support GED graduates and veterans.
Most scholarships require a minimum GPA between 2.5 and 3.0, though eligibility varies by program. Applicants may log in anytime to check their status or contact Katie Henry at 815-802-8287 or khenry@kcc.edu for assistance.
The KCC Foundation said the goal is to make higher education more accessible for Kankakee County students through community-funded support.
“Every scholarship helps remove a barrier,” the Foundation noted. “We encourage every student to apply.”
