Kankakee, IL – Detectives with the Kankakee Police Department seized five firearms and arrested three people Thursday during a search warrant at a home on South Greenwood Avenue.

According to police, the October 15, 2025, warrant followed an ongoing investigation that revealed firearms were allegedly being illegally possessed at a residence in the 600 block of the street.

During the search, officers located and seized five guns. Three individuals — Donald Myart, 50; Carol Myart, 51; and Dejour Marshall, 21 — were taken into custody.

Investigators said none of the suspects had a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card or Concealed Carry License (CCL), as required under Illinois law. Police also confirmed that Donald Myart is a convicted felon, making firearm possession illegal.

All three were charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon (UUW) and related firearm offenses. Evidence and the recovered weapons are being processed as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case has been forwarded to the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
