Kankakee, IL – A 65-year-old Kankakee man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly threatening a neighbor with a firearm during a dispute on North Greenwood Avenue, according to the Kankakee Police Department.
Police say officers were dispatched around 8:03 a.m. to the 300 block of North Greenwood Avenue after receiving reports that a man had pointed a gun at an upstairs neighbor. Responding officers secured the area and made contact with those involved.
According to police, the suspect—identified as Danny Baptist, 65—was taken into custody after officers developed probable cause and obtained a search warrant for his home. During the search, officers reportedly recovered multiple firearms, including one matching the description given by the victim.
Baptist was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Assault, police said. He was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center for processing.
