Kankakee, IL – A 16-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody following a shooting incident and a search warrant execution.
According to the City of Kankakee Police Department, on June 9 at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 600 block of West Park Street. They discovered a vehicle and two houses had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. City detectives investigated and on June 13 at approximately 1 p.m., executed a search warrant on a residence in the 700 block of N 8th Ave. A firearm was recovered, and the juvenile, currently on probation for a prior firearm offense, was arrested without incident.
