Kankakee, IL — Clove Alliance is calling on Kankakee residents to make a difference by joining its volunteer training program starting this Thursday, just before Labor Day Weekend. The training will run through October 23, offering sessions every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:30 p.m., with additional sessions on Saturday, October 12 and 19.

According to Clove Alliance, volunteers will play a vital role in the community by spreading awareness and supporting sexual violence survivors. Participants will receive in-depth training on crisis hotline response, outreach strategies, and other essential skills. Once trained, volunteers will staff community booths and provide around-the-clock support through Clove Alliance’s 24-Hour Crisis Hotline.

The program also includes 12 hours of independent study, preparing volunteers to assist at local hospitals and during emergency room visits. Interested individuals can contact Brittany Fry, Director of Volunteer Services, for more information.

This training is free, and qualified professionals can earn CEUs for a fee. Clove Alliance is committed to fostering a safer community by empowering volunteers to support survivors.
