Pembroke Township, IL – Kankakee County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect after a man reported being assaulted outside a gas station in Pembroke Township.
According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called just before 9 a.m. Wednesday after a man said he was attacked during a confrontation at the gas station. The victim told deputies he had been speaking with another man who allegedly became irritated before striking him.
The man reported that the suspect allegedly swung at him, then lifted him off the ground and slammed him down, causing injuries to his head and back. Deputies said they later went to the suspect’s home in an effort to contact him but were unsuccessful.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing, and deputies are continuing to search for the suspect. No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office.
