Kankakee County, IL – Drivers in northern Kankakee County faced delays Monday evening after a crash at Route 50 and 12000 North Road forced a temporary shutdown of northbound lanes.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday when a 2019 Honda Fit, driven by 37-year-old Marissa Gillum, was headed westbound on 12000 North Road. Troopers say Gillum allegedly failed to stop at Route 50 and struck a southbound pickup truck.

The northbound lanes of Route 50 were closed for a period of time Monday evening as investigators reviewed the scene and crews worked to clear debris. Traffic was later reopened following the cleanup.
