MANTENO, IL – In a shocking early morning incident outside a Manteno bar, police have apprehended 32-year-old Thomas J. Wood III on allegations of attempted murder. 

According to Manteno Police, the episode unfolded in the parking lot of a bar located at the 100 block of North Locust Street, where officers discovered two individuals with stab wounds upon their arrival— one with a severe injury to the head and another to the arm. Both victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Following a prompt investigation into the incident, authorities identified Wood as the alleged assailant, who allegedly fled the scene shortly after the attack. He now faces two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The Manteno Police Department continues to investigate the violent altercation, seeking to understand the motive and circumstances that led to this tragic event.
