Bradley, IL – A late-night threat targeting Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School prompted a swift law enforcement response, leading to one person being taken into custody, according to a statement released by the district Thursday morning.

According to school officials, the Bradley and Bourbonnais Police Departments worked together after being alerted to a potential threat against the high school. Authorities executed a search warrant overnight, identifying and locating the alleged offender before the start of the school day.

“There is no further threat,” the district said in its press release. “However, in an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence in the building throughout the day today as a precaution and reassurance that this matter was resolved.”

Classes continued as scheduled Thursday, though the heightened security was visible at entrances and around campus. The district has not released additional details about the nature of the threat or whether the individual taken into custody is a student, citing the ongoing police investigation.

Parents and students were notified early Thursday morning, and officials emphasized that the quick cooperation between the two local police departments helped ensure safety before school began.
