Kankakee, IL – A festive mix of history and holiday charm returns this December with the “Reflections of Kankakee County: Holiday Lights & History Bus Tour,” set for Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Participants will meet at the Kankakee County Museum, where they’ll board a bus for a guided evening tour highlighting the area’s architectural landmarks and seasonal displays.
The experience begins at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Historic B. Harley Bradley House, dressed in holiday décor. The route continues through the Riverview Historic District, featuring homes illuminated with twinkling lights, before stopping at the George H. Letourneau House, showcasing period-style Christmas decorations.
The evening wraps up back at the museum, where guests can wander through the 47th Annual Gallery of Trees, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, and soak in the holiday atmosphere.
According to event organizers, the collaboration between the B. Harley Bradley House, Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society, Bourbonnais Township Park District, Kankakee County Museum, and Visit Kankakee County offers “a memorable way to see local history in a new light.”
Tickets are $25 per person, including transportation, tours, and refreshments. Advance registration is required by Dec. 9 at btpd.org/reflections or by calling 815-933-9905.
