Kankakee County Gears Up for 11th Annual Scarecrow Festival at Perry Farm

Bourbonnais, IL – The 11th Annual Scarecrow Contest and Festival will take place on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Perry Farm Park. Participants are encouraged to register for the event before the deadline on Wednesday, September 18.

According to the Bourbonnais Township Park District, registration is now open, and spots are filling up quickly. The contest is open to various categories, including business, non-profit, school/youth, individual/family, and the ever-popular “People’s Choice.” The registration fee is $30, and participants can register in person at the Perry Farm House between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first and second place in each category, with the top winner receiving $100. Scarecrow set-up will occur on Thursday, September 19, and Friday, September 20. Festival-goers can vote for their favorite scarecrows, with all proceeds benefiting Ascension Health Breast Cancer Foundation.

This family-friendly event, sponsored by Ascension Saint Mary, promises a festive day filled with creativity, competition, and community spirit.
