Momence, IL – A Kankakee County man has been arrested following a state police investigation into alleged child sexual abuse materials. The arrest took place Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Momence, according to Illinois State Police (ISP).

ISP officials reported that Special Agents with the Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 47-year-old Nathan D. Rodgers of Momence on one count of Possession of Child Pornography, a Class 2 felony.

According to authorities, agents executed a residential search warrant at a home in the 100 block of East Washington Street. With the assistance of ISP SWAT, Rodgers was taken into custody after investigators allegedly discovered evidence of child sexual abuse materials.

The case was referred to the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office, which filed the charge. Rodgers is being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee County, pending his first court appearance. No additional information has been released at this time.

State police emphasized the importance of public awareness and provided resources for reporting child exploitation. Parents and guardians can submit tips through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s cyber tip line at www.cybertipline.com. More information for survivors of abuse is available at www.missingkids.org and illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/onlinesafe/.

Authorities remind the public that a criminal charge is not evidence of guilt, and Rodgers is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
