Kankakee, IL – Kankakee Community College will mark a decade of its Lifelong Learning Institute with a fall kick-off and information session set for Thursday, Aug. 28, offering area residents a closer look at non-credit educational opportunities designed for adults ages 50 and older.

According to Kankakee Community College, the free event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Iroquois Room on campus, 100 College Drive. Dana Arseneau of Riverside Healthcare is scheduled as the special guest speaker, presenting “Staying Safe as We Age: Why Injuries Happen and How to Prevent Them.”

Attendees will be able to register for fall classes and access course details during the session. The Lifelong Learning Institute, established in 2014, offers a wide range of affordable classes, both in person and through live webinars. This fall, 16 classes are offered free of charge, with many other options available for $25 or less.
