Kankakee Bar Dispute Leads to Quick Police Action

KANKAKEE — Tension ran high on South East Avenue Wednesday night when a local police officer intervened in a heated dispute outside a bar. 

According to reports it was around 10:30 pm, when 27-year-old Zachary Campbell of Manteno was reportedly spotted exiting a bar and aggressively confronting a woman. The situation escalated quickly, with Campbell allegedly attempting to strike the woman and later throwing a drink at her. 

Swift action by the observing officer led to a brief chase, ending with Campbell’s arrest a mere half block away. He now faces charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
