Aurora, IL – Two Aurora men were arrested earlier this month after police executed narcotics search warrants that led to the recovery of cocaine, firearms, ammunition, and cash, authorities confirmed.

According to the Aurora Police Department, Special Operations Group investigators, supported by tactical units and drones, carried out the operations on September 17 and September 10. Officers said both searches were completed without incident.

On September 17 at about 6:15 p.m., investigators searched a home in the 600 block of West Galena Boulevard. Inside, they reported finding 3.4 grams of cocaine, drug packaging materials, two handguns, and ammunition. Police arrested Osbaldo Moreno-Izeta, 32, of Aurora, who prosecutors allege is a documented gang member. Kane County prosecutors filed felony charges including armed violence, delivery of cocaine, and multiple weapons offenses.

A second search took place on September 10 at about 7:47 p.m. in the 100 block of Warren Avenue. Police reported seizing 7.3 grams of crack cocaine, $5,660 in cash, digital scales, and a stolen pistol with a laser attachment. Kevin A. Thomas-Cox, 30, of Aurora, was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of cocaine delivery, drug possession, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

“These operations are the result of focused investigations and teamwork across multiple specialized units,” Aurora Police Chief Matt Thomas said in a statement. “Every firearm, every bag of narcotics, and every dollar in drug proceeds we take off the street represents a safer community for our residents.”
