Kane County, IL – An Aurora man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to six counts of involuntary servitude, according to Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser.
Prosecutors said Jamar R. Hare used illegal drugs, threats, and physical force to control six women and profit from sexual acts performed under coercion between 2020 and 2021. Each victim was 18 or older.
Judge David Kliment accepted the plea. Each of the six counts carries a 13-year term, to be served concurrently, officials said. Hare will receive credit for 270 days served in the Kane County jail and is eligible for day-for-day sentencing.
According to Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Rodgers, Hare financially benefited from a scheme in which men paid for sexual acts with women under his control at an Aurora residence. “The defendant used illegal drugs and the threat of violence to exploit the victims for his personal gain,” Rodgers said.
Mosser credited the victims’ bravery and the work of Detective Benjamin Grabowski of the Aurora Police Department, who led the investigation.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by Kane County prosecutors to combat exploitation and human trafficking across northern Illinois.
