St. Charles, IL – A Carpentersville man is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors alleged he possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material between 2024 and 2025.

According to Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser, 44-year-old Jason Grabowski has been charged with four counts of dissemination of child pornography, a Class X felony, and four counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony. Prosecutors allege Grabowski shared an image and multiple videos through private chats on a social media platform.

The investigation was conducted by the Village of Carpentersville Police Department in coordination with the Kane County Child Exploitation Unit, which launched in 2022 as a joint effort between the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 5, Grabowski appeared in court for a pretrial detention hearing. While the State requested detention, a judge released him under strict conditions. According to court records, Grabowski is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors under age 18 or accessing devices capable of connecting to the internet.

Grabowski’s next court date is scheduled for October 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Courtroom 211 of the Kane County Judicial Center in St. Charles.

Authorities emphasized that the charges are accusations, not proof of guilt. Grabowski is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
