Charleston, WV – A weak weather system will bring light rain showers across portions of West Virginia late tonight and into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.

Forecasters say the weekend will begin dry and mild, with highs today ranging from the mid-50s in the mountains to the low 60s in the lowlands. Clouds will increase tonight, followed by 20–40% rain chances through Sunday morning as the system passes.

Rainfall is expected to remain light and brief, with skies gradually clearing by Sunday afternoon. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s, leading to cooler early-morning conditions across higher elevations.

By Monday, high pressure will build back into the region, bringing dry and sunny weather through midweek. Temperatures will stay seasonable, with highs in the 50s to low 60s and lows mainly in the 30s and low 40s.

The National Weather Service expects the first half of the week to feature stable, pleasant conditions, ideal for outdoor plans after the weekend’s passing showers.
