According to deputies, Kanawha County Metro 911 received a call at approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, from Jason Joe Phillips, 46, who stated that he had shot his wife, Joanna Lynn Phillips, 46, inside the kitchen of their residence.

Deputies responded to the 3500 block of Allens Fork Road in Sissonville, located in Kanawha County near the Charleston metro area. Authorities said Phillips was taken into custody without incident upon their arrival.

Once inside the residence, deputies located Joanna Lynn Phillips, who was found deceased, according to the sheriff’s office.
