Kalamazoo County, MI – A homicide investigation is underway in Oshtemo Township after deputies discovered two victims at an apartment complex early Saturday morning.
According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to the Mt. Royal Apartments for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a woman unresponsive from a gunshot wound and a man suffering from severe injuries caused by an assault.
Deputies administered medical aid to both victims. The male victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives and crime lab technicians remained at the scene Friday morning, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. The KCSO Victim Services Unit is also assisting the families of those involved.
Authorities described the case as an active and ongoing investigation and said additional details will be released as they become available.
