Science Hill, KY — A tragic motorcycle collision in Pulaski County has left a juvenile dead after an off-duty officer’s vehicle struck the motorbike late Saturday. The Kentucky State Police, Post 11, responded to a report of the accident just before 11:45 p.m. on U.S. 27 near Old Norwood Road.
According to authorities, Officer Derrick A. Glover, 31, of Nancy, KY, was driving his Dodge Durango police vehicle southbound when he collided with a Coleman 196cc off-road motorcycle. The juvenile rider, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. The officer was not injured in the incident.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Cory Jones, with assistance from Kentucky State Police personnel, Pulaski Fire and Rescue, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski County EMS, Science Hill Fire Department, and the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the crash, and the names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
