Miami, Florida – Above average heat will grip South Florida this weekend, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and lower 90s through Sunday evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, cities across the region— including West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Homestead — will see highs between 89°F and 91°F both Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will offer little relief, holding in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Miami is expected to reach 90°F by noon both days, while inland areas like Immokalee and Clewiston could experience similar conditions by early afternoon. The persistent warmth and humidity raise the risk of heat-related illness, especially for those spending extended time outdoors.
Officials urge residents to limit strenuous activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles. With heat index values likely to feel even hotter, quick dehydration is a real danger.
This early-season heat is several degrees above June averages and may intensify through early next week. No formal heat advisories have been issued yet, but more updates could follow if conditions worsen.
